“That’s a line.”

“Oh my god, that’s a line!”

“Is that a line?!”

Most people will get a “squinter” around 4 days post-transfer, so when we got to 5.75dpt with no line, we pretty much threw in the towel on Transfer #1. So when I peed on a stick at 6dpt—more out of habit than hope—and got this obscenely faint not-even-a-line line, I didn’t quite believe it. (And yes, I was peeing on upwards of four sticks a day. Internet cheapies for the win!)

My hCG was slow to rise, but you’re either pregnant or you’re not, and I was definitely pregnant. It was too early for cravings and announcements and photo shoots, so we kept it to a tiny group of friends and family.

And then came the bleeding and then the gushing and the walnut-sized something, and that was The End.
